😋 Review

First review in SF Chinatown is a spicy one. I think compared to other Szechuan restaurants, Z&Y does the spice just right. Others tend to overdo it and when a lot of your menu is spicy, this point really matters. Everyone’s taste palette is going to be different, but this was a general consensus among the group I ate with. Classic Lazy Susan vibe set the mood for a more traditional Chinese restaurant. There’s also some nice outdoor seating.

The menu is filled with authentic choices so it’s hard to go wrong. I liked the Cumin lamb a lot. I loved the balance of flavors. The spice was just enough to make my mouth feel numb. I thought the fish and tofu broth was unique and tasty. It’s presented in a grand bowl and there’s plenty to go around. As with most Chinese dinner restaurants, it can get quite expensive. Came here with 7 people and with 8 dishes the total came out to $300 including tax and tip. Come try out one of the more well-known and authentic restaurants in SF Chinatown!
